Drove my car home from school and it had no pick-up. RPMs would jump with Essy but yet no pull very slow acceleration. What do you thin the problem my be transmission. I am going to bring it to a shop tomorrow. Any one know of a good place i have a 3rd party warranty from the dealer ship, got my car used. I am in the lower NY area westchester. Or any great place anyone knows of.

 

hmmm...

No pick up, as in acceleration was poor? When you press the gas, did the rpms go up and the car didn't move much? If so, sounds like a clutch going out.
Was the check engine light on? Flashing?

Could also be a clogged catalytic.

How many miles on your 8. Just because you got it used, doesn't mean you don't have warranty coverage.

i have 2004 with 47,000 miles. There is no engine light on. RPMs went up but the car did not move much.

 

i was reading up on the clogged catalytic i belive that is the problem, i have white smoke that comes out when i start the engine and also it pops alot. Does the warrenty cover that.
