i just had to have my car towed into mazda because my catalytic converter needs replaced.... later on this summer i was planning on getting a borla exhaust for my car and i was wandering when you get the exhaust does the catalytic converter stay or is it taken out? because i just laid down 2 g's for this work and im not about to take it right back out

The Borla exhaust is a catback exhaust, so it goes from the end of the catalytic converter through the exhaust tips. So, unless you also buy a midpipe/straight pipe to replace the cat, your catalytic converter will not be touched.
