New Engine Losing power in upper revvs

Ok. Got my new engine a couple of hundred miles ago. At high RPM under full throttle I am losing a little power aroung the 7500 RPM mark and there is a light rattle or ping.

Any suggestions.

Should you be revving that high if you're breaking in the new engine?

Check your apv. It should give a nice kick when hitting 7500 or if its stuck closed then loosing power slowly toward redline. Also i suggest not to rev the engine when breaking it in.

And I think it's 6500 for the apv.
