change the oil pressure regulator on the new engine.
Check the oil metering pump and its lines.
Completely flush the oil coolers and radiator.
Inspect the catalytic converter.
You might as well thoroughly clean the intake manifold and throttle body
That's pretty much it, all the other parts should be considered consumables (coils, plugs, leads, flywheel etc) so just replace them.

thanks for the info. never thought about replacing the fly wheel. is it worth going down the light weight route or stick with the original? ill set about the rest of the stuff in the parts washer. again thanks.

Well, replacing the clutch and flywheel is common practice when doing an engine swap. They're wear items after all so why risk it?
I have BHR\Spec flywheel and love it so if you have the money to spare my advice is: do eet!
You might actually just buy both the flywheel and upgraded coils from them and be happy with it.
If you have the chance also upgrade the oil pressure regulator on your new engine. The part is about 60$ from mazmart and increases the system's pressure. The s1 renesis is the only rotary to have low pressure system (around 4bar). Something i never really understood

i cannot for the life of me find the oil pressure regulator on the mazmart site..... tilts screen away from the good lady while adding more to list of "approved bits"... over time... a wonderful thing.
