New cat...

Hey guys,
So my catalytic converter has officially given up, rattling all the time and making horrible noises.
So my question is do I have to get a new Mazda cat or are there any aftermarket options...like a high-flow cat or something along those lines.

Cheers, Daniel

There are plenty of options. Spend 5 minutes searching and you'll find them.

Well something interesting happened today actually.
I wanted to have a look at the cat so i removed it from the car and noticed that it actually had a magnaflow cat?? (it had a magnaflow heatshield on it...thats what was actually making the rattling noise)
However when I looked inisde it was completely empty :0
This is what it looks like:

Thats not what its supposed to look like is it???
This is the resonator on the other end of the pipe:

I guess I dont need a new cat anyway....and it explains the strong fuel smell.
Cheers, Daniel
