My girlfriend is looking into getting an 04 RX8 with 64,000 mil they are got them down to 12k but she just fould out that the motor has been changed. I know that most of the 04 had that done as a recall but should there be any thing to worry about or what else might i need to look out for?

In 2004 the rx8 did not have good motors. but they also changed the engine core warranty that is now 100,000 miles. the car should still be fine. such as my self i have 50k on mine and im on my 3rd motor.

 

In 2004 they had the same exact motor we do now (exception of the 09s).. the only difference is that the 04-05 models had to go through a longer period of time being driven with the crappy ECU calibrations that led to failed motors or much damage being done to others that didn't fail then (OMP flow).

Find out when the new engine was put in.

 

yeah you should b good to go but see when the motor was put in and check to see everything else recall wise was done also
