Need some advice buyin RX8

Hi Guys,

Ive pritty much made my mind up on buying an RX8 but i have had a few people say the rotors go on the engine at around 60k and this can cost about £1500! is this correct?
Also when i view the car what am i looking for, what the common problems?
SOrry if this has been convered many times before, if you have a link that would be great.
What do you guys get MPG out both the 190 and 320 models.

Thanks in advance.
Eddie

Try reading this thread, and asking questions there for what might not be answered: https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-forum-197/new-potential-owners-start-here-202454/

It's specifically for new owners, or potential new owners.

Like a piston engine has a cam belt changed at X miles, normally 60k.
Does the wankal engine have main service for the rotors?

Nothing official from Mazda. You may want to perform a SeaFoam or ZoomZoom cleaner treatment at that time.

No. If you open up the engine it pretty much requires a rebuild to spec with clearances and such.

There are still pulley belts that need to be changed every 60k or so, still brake fluid, transmission fluid, rear diff fluid, etc...

As long as it remains well lubricated, the engine will last forever. Let it get too hot and this breaks down, let the oil get too low, or too infrequent changes, or let it get all carbon'ed up, etc... and you are reducing the lifespan.

How *** shuch a nice car can be baught with relivly low cash?

^.....read the thread he directed you too!
Show some initiative please.
People have all kinds of opinions on this car and it's usually those that know nothing about it and furthermore....don't even understand it.
