Need help my 2004 rx8 is making a knocking noise
i have a 2004 rx8 and its seems to be running perfectly fine when im driving it but its making a weird knocking noise and it deffinetly sounds like its comming from the engine... i recently replaced the spark plugs a wires and the spark plugs coils look fine i just got a new oil change and my oil pressure is fine.. and i actually took it to a mechanic for them took look at it to tell why its kncoking but they said the car was fine and there were no problems... but i know something is not right, it just shouldnet be making this knocking noise i had the car for a year no and i had no problems with it untill it starting mking this noise... so if anyone has any idea to why it making this noise please tell me... thank you... oh and also within the past 2 or 3 weeks i put in fuel injector cleaner and engine repair stuff that you add to your oil and octaine booster and it made no difference it still makes the noise.

i would say: loose connection from wire to spark plug. Make sure your wires clicked on tight to the plugs.
really i would never put any engine restore stuff in a rx8. Those products are made for piston engines not rotaries.

yea thats the first thing i checked i made sure all the plugs were on tight and they are but it still makes the knocking noise... and do you think the engine restore stuff i put in would do any damage?? and thanks for your suggestion

no i dont think it was bad gas its been doing this for about 3 weeks so far and i filled my tank about 3 times since its been knocking but i will give what you said a try... thanks

yeah reset your fuel trims. Clean your MAF sensor while youre at it. Electrical contact cleaner will do if your local store doesnt sell MAF sensor cleaner. Change your air filter? If not the only other option is your CAT is dying.

ok i will deff try everything that everyones been telling me to do... and i will deff let yous know what the problem was if i eventualy fix it... thanks for everyones advice and help
