Question Renesis motor Swap.....need advice

whats up 8 members~

First off, I'm so ******* PISSED right now... excuse my horrible typing language on here. but I really am. =/

well im going to make a long story short , nice and simple...

I just recently purchased a Renesis motor with 15k miles on it from a 2005 rx8 with side collision damage from a Salavage depot in Utica,NY.
My old motor was shot from a blown rotor a.k.a Worn Seals, No compression. So as i was saying after ordering the motor i got it the next day and statred the over-haul and swapped it out and got the new one in. oh and before i forget i asked plenty of questions before buying the motor, like how many miles, wheres it from, hows the compression etc.~ and his response was Excellent Compression ,15k miles on it SHARP!, and from the side impact 8....and so on, so seemed legit.

now back to where i was, so i install the new motor, connect all harnesses and sensor, got all fluids in, and ready to fire up, but as i was cranking and cranking it just wouldn't FIRE UP at all. im sitting there dumbfounded as to why it aint starting...i check all major components and logsitics and everything seemed in place. now im really sitting there asking myself and smoking too many ciggarettes and finally said....ok im gna do a compression test here. I finally get going on the compression and what do you know........ The COMPRESSION WAS 20 PSI FRONT ROTOR AND 15 PSI BACK ROTOR. AND IM HERE FLIPPPPING OUT~ now i got to return this crap motor back which the guy lied his *** off to me telling me it was a sharp and excellent motor with great compression, mmy assssss! ArrRggG now time to take this motor out AGAIN! wtf.. =/

but what i wanna know is, shouldnt it still fire up for a bit even with that low of compression???? i mean what went wrong if it can fire up....is there a certain procedure i go by doing a "rotary renesis swap"???? please let me know...
i really can use some advice from someone with renesis swap and procedure layout~....

Thanks and i really would appreciate it very much~

I promise to you I'll send whoever a 30$ Apple Bees Gift Card for someone who can trouble shoot it... i will be honest with you and wont lie just to get out of my promise because thats just grimey and just wrong, period.
so let me know ~

Once you are sure you have good dry spark plugs, give the motor a big shot of ether (cold start spray) thru one of those hose plugs on the side of the air intake hose.

The engine will fire up, compression or no.

If it dies after the brief rev-up, then it's not getting fuel.

If it runs for a brief time, the fuel system is functional, you may need to use the old (RX3) method of starting - a good tow. With a tow start from another car, keep it in second and rev the crap out of it, freeing up whatever seal is stuck.

Only after the 'ether&tow' can you say it is dead.....

it doesnt rev up at all.... it cranks but theres no initial start to the motor. I've tried to do the cold start shot and i know im getting fuel delivered, but im going to do a double check by taking off the fuel pump cover to see if its getting delivered but what im worried about is that maybe a sensor is gone haywire and messing up the start up signal to the pcm. I dont know if anyone here has has had this problem before while installing a motor in and this happen. right now at this moment im going to take the cat off and try a start up, just to see what would happen [possible clogged cat since i feel not much pressure coming out of the exhaust while cranking....]

next step, see if the CPS[crank/eccentric shaft sensor is working properly].

if anyone can give me more advice on how to go about on this problem. pleasee i really appreciate your help especially the ones who do this often.

thanks again~

-Bill
