Navigation System Issues (power button does not work)

Hi All:

I've recently had an issue with my Navigation System in my 2005 GT. A few weeks ago I pressed the button to open the LCD display. The display opened (with audible beep), but then immediately closed. Since then, I have been unable to open the LCD display with the button (and no audible beep is heard).

When I press the button, I hear no noise at all (no sound of a struggling motor, nothing). If I open the LCD screen manually until it clicks, it immediately closes itself. If I open the LCD completely passed where it clicks, it remains open. Once in a blue mood after opening manually, it will briefly display the 'Do not operate while driving' screen, then immediately shut off and close itself.

I came across this TSB: http://www.finishlineperformance.com...3-04-1358b.pdf

It doesn't reflect exactly what is happening with myvehicle, but I attempted it anyways. It did not work.

Power is getting the LCD unit (evident when I can sometimes get it to display the warning), however it cannot get it to stay open. I should point out that when I initially checked the room fuse, it was slightly out of place in the fuse panel. it was still making a connection, but it had been jammed to the left (so I suppose it's possible there was intermittent connections ... though my radio settings never reset themselves). I have checked all fuses and all are intact.

Does anybody have any ideas before I dismantle the dash to check for loose wiring???

Just to clarify, it i manually open the LCD display passed the point where it 'clicks', it does remain open but does not display anything.
