Looking at just the last part of the data set, all things considered it looks ok to me other than you're way to rich.

It would be easier to read if you just started the log run at 2500rpm in 3rd gear

Stewie! Several questions/comments..

1. How did you get the AFR, load, maf, etc to graph all in one place like that? I can't seem to do it right in Virtual Dyno, did you use another program? P.S. I suck with Excel.

2. How did you extend the data below/above 5,500rpm/8,500rpm? There's no accurate data past those points.

3. While I would love for my car to have almost 150lb-ft at th wheels, I do believe that to be slightly unrealistic with the current tune

4. My car does not weigh 1407lbs?

5. I know it's rich, blah. I'm working on another tune, but starting from stock so it may take a bit. Stock dips into the 9's!!! For my base tune, AFR's will not drop below
13.2 for 1st & 2nd
12.8 for 3rd & 4th
12.5 for 5th & 6th
Just as a starting point. I'll set my timing around 26/12 (L/T) from that point onward, then decrease the split and see what happens.

To the guy who asked about drag times, it was a 15.4xx @92.xxmph. That was my 1st, 2nd, 3rd... 6th Run ever on the strip! I know I could do better, I didn't even find a good launch rpm til that specific datalog, and I lost .50 seconds or more to wheel hop shifting into 2nd. Easily a 14.9 without it.

So I guess the general consensus is chalk it up to being too rich in that area?

1) Yeah Sorry man I used Excel. You can however get the AFR and Calculated load on VD. Go into options and put use the Equiv Ratio column from your log in the ARF field and in the Boost field use the Calculated Load column

2) Not entirely sure what you mean but I think you think that's your data in the screen shot I posted of VD. Sorry again its not. Those are two NA logs I have comparing two different timing maps.

3) Maybe maybe not I've been doing a lot of reading and there seems to be guys pulling off 200+ whp dyno's out of the box.

4) I dunno, lol I dunno what is the curb weight of an RX8?

5) Not sure exactly what the question is but those look like safe AFR's. Personally and from what I can tell it's sort of like the oil question/holy war
I like 13.2 - 13.5 AFR in a NA vehicle running Sunoco 94

I don't know to tell you the truth.

The HP is starting to fade by 9k normally, ummm you should gain some from 7250 to 8000+- ish but much after that it's all down hill.
The Maf g/s looks reasonable at the top end.

I'm not certain what you're expecting to see?

I'm not even certain how you would diagnose this issue if you had a load dyno.
Need someone else like Brett or RIWWP or 9k to step in

OH! Those are your logs?!? Why didn't you just say so? I don't remember reading that anywhere..

Thanks for the tip. I have mine as "Equiv. Ratio (AFR)", but it doesn't show. Should it just be "AFR"?

I use 3015lbs as the curb weight for my car. I've lost some exhaust weight, but I generally keep a few tools in the trunk just in case, so it might even out.

That AFR rant was just to the guy it said it's rich. I have plans, don't you worry.

I guess I'm just expecting to see a curve of sorts. Flat is just weird. I'll try new plugs and an air filter and report back later.

UPDATE: I had a friend verify that my VDI solenoid does indeed activate at the correct RPM. Will report down the road after I figure out this flat curve weirdness.

I didn't mean to mislead you with those VD logs. Hey I have 21 posts I'm still a noob lol

In the Option on the Columns and Profiles I have it setup like this (and make sure the little box things are checked)
Time = Time
RPM = RPM (RPM)
AFR = Equiv. Ration (AFR)
TPS= Throttle Position (%)
Boost = Calculated Load (%)

You're not going to see a curve using VD is you don't start you log data earlier than 6000 rpm
Around 6000 rpm our Torque peak and 5250 rpm is a key figure in the calculation of HP. HP = (torque*RPM)/5252
So any log data that you enter that doesn't start well ahead of this area is going to give you weird output.

LOL wasn't it me that said you are running to rich?
