Are my spark plugs bad :D

Just changed out my spark plugs. Dumb owner before me had both Leads in one rotor and trails in the other.

brown is fine, black is bad

What does the black mean? Also what sort of damage could have been done to my engine with them having the plugs in the wrong places. Gonna seafoam because im sure there is a lot of carbon built up.
