My Sohn adapter install w/ pics

Wasn't easy (for a novice), but I made it eventually!

"Pro" tips:

Unplug the electrical connectors BEFORE removing the pump, especially if they are oily from leakage. You get better leverage. I used some pliers to grip the grey one, but I'm weak.

You do not have to unhook any lines (either the plastic oil pipes or the coolant hose) in order to relocate the pipe routing around the lower coolant reservoir hose. Simply unmount the lower coolant reservoir hose from the clip near the passenger side of where the battery tray sits, and bend it down while bringing the disconnected metering pump and attached pipes up and over. The hose is pretty supple. No spilled coolant and no coolant draining!

If you have trouble finding the correct angle for the key in the Sohn adapter to mate with the hole on the motor, you can actually pull out the key from the Sohn block and use it kind of like a screw driver to identify the correct angle of the key in the motor. You can't turn the motor side of the key, but you can find the correct angle much easier this way without trying to line up 2 bolts, the paper seal, and the key all at once.

Use a u-joint on your socket extender for the top bolt accessed through the passenger wheel well, as well as a short extender with a u-joint on the end for the front one near the oil pipes. That way you can torque to spec without guessing with a wrench. As for threading, no tips on that as my hands were small enough to hand-tighten all 3. Magnetic sockets are probably the only reliable way.

Once everything is back together, make sure none of the clamps on the nearby hoses are going to rub the oil pipes. Take needle nose pliers and twist them out of the way.

Don't drop a large mag-lite on the black plastic box on the left of the coolant reservoir, it will crack...

And finally, the Epitroch Sohn adapter support kit makes the whole ordeal much simpler and very pro-looking.

On to pics!

The work area, with ridiculous socket setup.

The pump itself.

The adapter mated with the pump. Note the lower coolant reservoir hose on the left, unhooked from it's locator. Just bend it down and you can squeeze the pump over it to reroute the oil pipes.

All done!

As you may have seen, I have been suffering from a rather bothersome oil leak around the pump itself. Taking the pump off it seemed to be coming from the mating side of the pump. I replaced the o-ring and we'll see if the leak stops.
