- A bare unit without case might be useful, in order to simplify custom fitment (e.g ashtray panel).
- Whereabouts exactly does it tap into the CAN lines at the moment? If you have doubts about where UK/Euro models route a CAN loom, due to absence of tyre pressure sensors, I might be able to figure something out from the factory service manual I have on CD.

@Whiterat: not sure about fuel economy display - might be a bit depressing!
Currently the plan is to have 2 Aux inputs in the final design. I have heard that the CAN bus near the TPMS module is present in the UK models too, they just don't have the module. The harness is the same though. If anyone cares to check, you have to remove the radio, AC vents and top hood, and look for a harness 2 wires: green with black stripe, blue with white stripe.

Very good! We have been able to tape into the disply for 5 years.

Didn't know there was an input line so close for OBD

I couldn't find anything in the service manual regarding the placement/nature of wiring looms behind the dash. No reference at all to TPMS module either, but no surprise there as it covers UK, Euro and Australian models only.

I have had the dash middle top cover off before - when attempting to locate and fix a rattle - and I don't remember seeing much wiring there. As far as my feeble memory recalls, there was only one wire bundle visible (apart from connections to centre speaker and LED display), connecting to something off to the side. It was encased in shrink-wrap, so no idea what the colours were.

Might have to disassemble again and find out properly, if I have the time.

Count me in as "Ready To Buy"!! I had considered a car PC so I could run a custom dash, but this is exactly what I need!

I have kicked off manufacturing! First run will be 50 units. The preliminary ETA is about 6 weeks, the customized enclosures take the longest, but are the cheapest part. Go figure.

Here's to hoping all the cash I shelled out will be made up with sales

I have talked with Ken at Protege Garage, once I have all them assembled (gonna be a fun night of soldering) you'll be able to buy them there.

I can't divulge pricing here since it is against the rules.
