My car is broken ;(

Well I have a little problem. After returning from a 3 month vacation my car is broken. Hopefully someone here can help me out. The car starts up but only idles ~1-2k rpm's. When you press the gas pedal it does almost nothing... it idles a little high and when you press the gas it only rev's up to ~2k- 2.5k rpm but if the AC is on it only revs to ~1.7k rpms and at times the idle drops low as if it is going to cut off. The car was not moved or touched for 3 months. I just returned and reconnected the battery it started up just fine. Has anyone had this problem or something similar and what did you do to remedy the situation... really not looking forward to taking it into the dealer cause the problem seems like something simple. Just don't know where to start. Any ideas/help would be great... It's a 2004 with roughly 73K miles with no previous issues and ran perfectly before I left.

Since you disconnected the battery the PCM was reset and has to relearn the fuel trims.
As long as its not idling lower than 800 RPM I wouldn't worry.
Give it a few drive cycles and see if it improves.
How long did you let it idle for?

^even with resetting all the trims he would have a problem with idleing low and alomst staling not idling high and cannont rev.....could it possibly be limp mode somehow kicked in...does it sound to be running right or is it making any noises?

Maybe he tried to rev it without letting it warm up (especially after letting it sit for 3 months) and it went into limp mode.
I questioned how long he let it sit idle because I've seen mine idle at 1.5K rpm for roughly 5-10 seconds and then start to decrease.
Now if it idled high for a couple minutes, then I would agree that something else is going on.

^yeah it's going to idle high on cold start...for awhile while air pump is on then after 2 min or so the pump kicks off and goes to about 1.5k rpms then finnaly slowly drops down to 800 or so...

Thanks for the replies. When I started the car I let it sit about 15 minutes and then tried to move the car when I realized the engine would not rev above 2.5k and bogged down and would not pull under load (the car was parked on a slight hill/hump). But happy to update I started the car a few times and let it sit... I then checked (removed and replaced) some of the connectors and that seemed to fix it. The check engine light is off and the car seemed to just fix itself (unless me removing and replacing connectors fixed it). I will be taking the car in for an oil change and to get checked out and will update after that.
