Muffler help/advice needed please

I have a 2009 RX8, K&N intake, and racingbeat axle back.

I've been wanting the RX8 to sound more aggressive since its sadly an automatic. I'm not concerned about performance and gaining horsepower or anything.

The mufflers I had were massive and made the car really quiet, we took the mufflers off and it sounds exactly how I've always wanted.

Unfortunately, due to inspection coming up and my father down my neck about having a muffler on, I have to put something back on my car.

I don't have the stock mufflers, and don't want to hack the racingbeat ones.

Is there a way to put something on my car and sound exactly like I do now and pass inspection and please my father? Or at least 'fool' both?

Why won't it pass inspection? The noise level or did you remove the cat converter?

There is no possible way to fool someone into thinking an exhaust is quieter and keeping the same sound you have now. Either put the racing beat on for inspection and then take it off or leave it on.

Just put the Racing Beat one on to pass the inspection then add a midpipe of your choice.

Next time, don't throw away the stock ones, keep it for this kind of stuffs...like getting to pass a smog test or something.

Next time keep the muffler on.

Gotta admit that I'm impressed that a 12 year old owns that nice a car.

I didn't throw them away, after I bought everything, since I already spent $800 on it, my dad paid for it to be put on, and for some reason sold it to the guy. But I had intentions of keeping it.

12 year old? Really? .. Whatever your intentions are, I'd prefer if you leave the immaturity out. I didn't ask for smartass remarks. I wanted to take it off, so I did. Good day.

They weren't thrown away. I have a full exhaust, I just took off the mufflers for sound.

I mean, I know all the things I 'can do' but I just want to keep the sound like this, most rx8's you hear sound raspy and terrible when the exhaust is being messed with. I could buy a new muffler other than racingbeat but I don't want to spend the money when all I had to do was take mine off you know lol. I was told I could replace the mufflers with resonators and weld the tips on. Or just put on my racingbeat mufflers and change the midpipe/take out the resonator. Or just keep it all together and get a header.

It's not the sound I'm trying to hide. I just want it to look like a muffler is in there. And I can pass inspection, I'm just trying to get my dad out of my ear. He said 'some kind of muffler has to be in that car' because I could supposedly get a ticket (when half the cars in town are running open header or with no mufflers as well. Or that having no muffler will mess up my car.

I haven't touched anything in the midpipe, the cat is still there as well as O2 sensor and everything. It's just that a muffler is required for inspection and i don't want to put mine on if there's ways to get around it, so I don't have to put it on then take it right back on, you know.

Mod Edit: You need to learn how to use Multi-Quote.

Maybe you wanted to take it off, but what about the rest of the world who might not enjoy the racket?

When I was 12 we'd make a racket by clamping a playing card to our bike fork so the spokes would hit it. Most people tend to outgrow that.

and more "12 yr ol's" gonna come in and *** "smartass" questions that has been answered like 15 million times.

this is the exact reason why i like FD more over FE, I mean FD is not that expensive TBH, but at least it usually cost over 15 grand(good condition one) and that will keep most of these "12 yr olds" away from messing it up and ask stupid questions.

What's worst is some other "Smartass" Mr. I wanna act nice guy gonna come in with no answers but to bitch at people who just got sick n tired of answering the same thing over and over.

You're talking but not saying anything? My car doesn't make racket. It sounds as if I have an entire exhaust. Nobody made you post on this question. I posted to get some feedback and ideas, not idiots who enjoy running their mouth trying to insult people for no reason.

It's sad that an 18 year old female "12 year old" is more mature than you. I was looking for advice, not and you have done nothing but the opposite. I ask you to please stop posting on my 'thread' and please annoy someone else. Good day.

You're right. I've been rude.

I apologize to the 12 year olds of the world.
