Modifying Typhoon I
I just bought my car and have had it for about a month. The person I bought it from had an intake(Typhoon I). As I have been driving it I noticed that at idle the car sounds like it is missing. After doing some research on this forum the conclusion I came to is that the Typhoon I is sucking up hot air off of the engine and the intake doesn't have any screens in it?(don't konw what screens do to air flow). I starting thinking how can I get cold air to the filter? I was thinking of mimicking the RB Ram air duct and build a snorkel out of fiberglass to get cold air to the intake. My question is will this actually do anything? Also will I need more than just a snorkel like a full enclosure to make sure it s getting cold air?

the idel miss is because of incorrect distance between end of filter and maf. . a whole box plus snorkel would be bettter than what you have now- a hot air sucker. but it still wouldnt be engineered correctly.
