Misfire CEL

I've heard a lot over time about people getting a CEL (Check Engine Light) due to a misfire (1st, 2nd, or random). I'm curious how many people have gotten them, and the type of driving they were doing at the time.

Any thoughts, guesses, experiments or inside info on the causes?

Mine was at the track But I think that was because I was under 1/4 tank fuel while exiting turn 7 WOT at Watkins Glenn which goes uphill.

Got 29k, haven't had a misfire CEL, or any CEL so far. Knocks on wood.

I've gotten a couple at WOT. I would also get it when driving normally in a certain area. It was the weirdest thing, because I could actually time and predict when exactly it was going to happen.

Just because you got a cell doesn't mean you had a misfire.

You would have to bring it in to get the code or have your own reader.

The only time I got one was after red lining it twice in a row, hasn't happened since.

Running a 10:1 or richer A/F at 10 PSI of boost at 8500 RPM.
Pulling the A/F back to a reasonable 11:1 fixed it.
