Message on dashboard won't go away

Sup everyone just bought a 05 rx8. I am getting a symbol with a car with a key in the middle of it in the dash board. It won't go away. I looked in the manual and it says something about the key and how it was entered to auc? I tried putting the key in many different times. Not sure what it is. I am worried about the batt draining. Please help. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's very important. It means that the key is not the proper one (Cracked) so the police may arrest you thinking that the car is stolen. It's a little "emergency" trick.

You can delete too. Just go to the first post of every thread and click edit, then the delete button.

I did correctly say "every" thread, because it isn't actually an issue.

Your car starts right?

It goes away then, and is working as intended.

WTF no. I have the keys and they are in good condition. Also this didn't happen yesterday. The manual mentioned something about turning the key in a certain way.????

There isn't an issue.

At least, I am making that assumption since your post was about "draining the battery" instead of "my car won't start".

Note: I'm specifically not telling you what the symbol means and what system it corresponds to, because it takes only a tiny tiny bit of effort for you to learn that through searching. As soon as you know what system it corresponds to, you will realize what it means and why there isn't an issue.

I did read the owners manual. Fixed it myself. Apparently the tires needed a little air. But the manual says something different. Oh well.

Regardless of the outcome you proved yourself to be a nice member.
You took the usual noob jokes and followed through by searching your way to the solution.

spend some more time familiarizing yourself with the various dash lights and their meaning. you mentioned a light with a key which sounds like the alarm system and now it seems what you were talking about was the flattened circle with an exclamation point in the middle which means a flattening or flat tire..

hint- the Lincoln memorial is actually a radiator symbol

Or overpressurized. I've triggered my TPMS with ~36 psi in a tire. Seems to be a 4psi swing from a center of 32psi.

I thought it was a merry-go-round. At least that's the way it seems after spending time here.

You must be intentionally not reading what we post...

So we can post anything we want in here that you might not like and you wouldn't even notice, right?
