Angry Malfunction in anti theft protection unit ..Help

When i try to lock my car with the remote key (activating the theft protection unit and immobilizer) after some time the loud alarms gets on with flashing light automatically. So i have to press the unlock button again to stop the noise. Now I cant lock the car at all since if i lock it it will make the flashing alarm after some time which will disturbs every one in the neighborhood. Please help someone how to disarm the theft protection unit of this 2005 RX8 (MT) what is the possible cause for this? Is the key battery has gone bad or something. The car starts fine though.. Its just that the alarm comes after locking..

I had the same thing happen recently with my daughter's Mazda 6. I replaced the key fob battery and all has been well since, so I would start with that.

Nop , I replaced the battery in the remote but still once I lock the car after some time the horn and the alarm sound starts. Some times it starts after 5min and sometimes after 2h. Definitly a malfunction. This is driving me nuts. I removed the battery from the key and tried to lock it from the key but still it make this huge noise after some time.

Is there a way to disarm the theft protection unit completely and use the key to lock the car only. ?? If so someone please help me to do it.

If you have the perimeter 'shock' alarm system one of the sensors may have gone intermittently bad or needs its sensitivity adjusted. Appears time for a dealership visit.

Ohh ok. But isn't there a way to deactivate the theft protection unit manually so that when you press the lock button in the remote key it just locks the car without theft protection getting on??

I know for a fact that if I only press my lock button once of my key it just locks the door on my 04.

Pressing it twice arms the alarm.

I was having this problem as well, but came to find out it was my passenger side door not fully engaging the lock. Now every time I lock my car I have to make sure by visually looking at the passenger lock that it is fully engaged

^^ I'm not aware of that.

From my '05 owner's manual fwiw:

System triggering conditions
The horn sounds intermittently and the
hazard warning lights flash for about 3
minutes when the system is triggered by
any one of the following:
-Forcing open a door, the hood or the
trunk lid.
-Opening a door, the hood or the trunk
lid by operating an inside door-lock
****, the hood release handle or the
trunk lid release button.
If the system is triggered again, the lights
and horn will activate until a door is
unlocked or the trunk lid is opened with
the key or with the transmitter.

To Turn off an Armed System
An armed system can be turned off by any
one of the following methods:
-Unlock a door with the key.
-Press the UNLOCK button on the
keyless entry system transmitter.
-Insert the key into the ignition switch
and turn it to the ON position.
The hazard warning lights will flash twice
to indicate that the system is turned off.
NOTE
The trunk lid can be opened with the
key or the transmitter even when the
system is armed. The alarm will not
come on and the system will remain
armed.

To Stop an Alarm
A triggered alarm can be turned off by
any one of the following methods:
-Unlock a door or the trunk lid with the
key.
-Press the UNLOCK button or
button on the keyless entry system
transmitter.
NOTE
If you have any problem with the theft deterrent
system, consult an Authorized
Mazda Dealer.

Hi guys,
I have a similar problem: I just replaced the battery on my 2006 Mazda3 GT and when re-connected, all lights and horn are solid on. Everything else is dead. No dashboard light, nothing... I tried to open the trunk with the key - it didn't work. I tried open-close/open-close sequence on the driver's door with the key. Doesn't work. I tried to put the key in on position and then re-connect the battery: doesn't work either. But, in this case, with the battery still connected, I turn the key to off position and now the wipers stopped.
Can anybody help me with some ideas...?
Kindly appreciated!
