Yeah I get the WIX filters (always way up there on filtration and flow tests I have seen) and just replace them twice a year. I have ran K&N before, but after some research I found that OEM paper filters filter waaaayyyyyy better and that the flow differences are negligible.

Not too mention cleaning the K&N is a PIA.

See? I am as ghetto as it gets when it comes to my OWN car. It isn't crazy if the dirt falls out and the filter looks good. I still have my intake duct attached and I only get dust on the filter. Even when back in MI, that was the case.

um dude. that looks cool and all but you are decimating your car's performance. you could put a drop in filter in there, and it would still look pretty bad ***. PLUS you wouldn't have to pull out your air box to check if it's dirty but listen to everyone on here dude. your mpg/ torque/ EGT performance just got shot. if you're going to use a cone filter, upgrade to a AEM dry flow, or a K&N cone, apexi, a REPUTABLE source. APC is cheap for a reason. trust me. i used to work at advance auto and got CONSTANT returns on their stuff. we're not all on here to flame you. we're trying to help you out. The mazda filter or k&N drop in is where it's at. although i'm going back stock next time it needs a charge

The other day at Autozone, I saw this Vin Diesel looking guy purchase one of those BAMF cone intakes. I knew he was a BAMF right on the spot. True story.
