MAF sensor, mods, and resulting ecu adjustments
Basically, since the 8 has a MAF, does the ecu correct and add more fuel after you modify the car? I know with the speed/density system the 89-91 7's and the FD's had, when you made modifications, the ecu didn't really know that it was moving more are through the engine. So if you do an intake with the 8, at a given rpm of 3k in fifth, no load, steady cruising, does the ecu know it's getting a bit more air coming in and add fuel to hit it's A/F for that corresponding cell in the fuel maps?

Mostly....
The ECU controls the mixture tightly when in those cruise conditions - it would adjust according to the feedback from its wideband O2 sensor to get the mixture just where it wants it. It stores these setting in its Short Term Fuel Trim table.
...I think.

Thanks for the responses. I wasn't worried about it leaning it out to much but rather, if people who've added the RB revi intake and claiming it's added 1 to 2 mpg are really just talking about possible driving habits making the difference in that change. If the engine is seeing more air coming through the MAF sensor, granted it's not much, then would it not add a bit of fuel and there by shoot the whole I got better gas mileage by adding an intake claim? I'll sort of know soon enough, I've got the RB intake and air duct to be installed as well.
