Loud cranking noise...
I turned my car off and I heard a loud cranking pop coming from the enginge bay. I turn the key to ACC power then turn it back off , and the crank occurs right there. It does it everytime! Anybody else out there with this problem? I'll record the noise and post it here later. The noise comes from around the manifold area BTW.
Thanks,

I dont know dude, this just started happening yesterday. It's really loud and annoying. It sounds like when you turn the key on a car with the battery drained out on it.

Take the intake tube off and watch the TB plate as someone turns the key.
You could also be hearing the secondary intake (S-dais) system doing a self test.
Do you have a CEL?
If the actual and requested values for the TB are out of spec it will continue to modulate as it tries to set itself to the correct position.

I dont think this is a problem - my rx8 has a similar loudish noise when you turn the key from ON to ACC/OFF. I believe it's one of the intake valve flaps closing when power is removed from one of the actuators/solenoids.
Mine's made the noise as long as I can remember, and I usually don't notice it because the engine is running generally when I turn the key off.

You think it could be the the Typhoon Intake that caused this problem? I don't have a CEL on, and the cars running fine. I'll post a video of the noise soon.

The intake might be making the sound seem louder than with the stock intake perhaps - some audio of the noise would help, since without it we're just guess what the noise actually is.
