Thumbs down Lost of power then the engine quits

I've looked through all the treads but haven't seen anyone's similar to my problem. I've got a combination of everything discussed.

I've got a '04 4AT. Before my warranty expired I've taken the car in because I was hearing a Chirping noise from the front right of the car during 4K RPM and up and esp when I am climbing up hills or dirving the car hard. But went to stupid Taiwan Mazda dealer and they never found the problem saying the computer never reads anything since no warning lights come up, so I guess there are no error codes.

But now that the warranty has expired the problem has gotten worst. (I have around 30K miles on my car). Now the chirping gets louder and louder when I am on the throttle or gunning it, then it becomes an rattling or clanging noise. When this happens the RPM falls and I lose power. If I don't let go of the gas the clanging noise gets so loud I think it might be damaging the engine. Then once I get to a stop light the car sort of misfires and then stalls. Or if I'm on a climb it can all of a sudden just quit and the engine shuts off. Then usually have to wait 10 or 20 min the the car starts up and drives okay again. But If I do the same type of driving it will happen again.

I think I've gone back to the dealer more then 30 times before and after the warranty but they could never fix it. All they tell me is your motor oil is low so you should fill her up or you oil needs to be replaced. I used the 5W30 mineral oil recommend by Mazda Taiwan. Anyways once the oil gets replaced the car runs okay for about a months then it same old problem starts to happen all over again. Doesn't the manuel say we can replace the oil and filter every 10K KM but recommend we do it in 5K KM, now I'm not even getting 3K KM and I'm losing too much oil and having all sorts of power loss. So I hope there anyone out there that can help me with this problem.

Oh, recently had the plugs replaced, motor oil and filter changed, air filter changed, and battery changed. I do have a full Trust Kit Exhaust on it.

Please help anyone!!!, cuz my 8 doesn't even run like a econo car!!!

I hate to state the obvious but it definitely sounds like a failing motor. Did you ever get a compression test on it?

Nope, haven't done the compression test on it before. If I goto the dealer they should be able to do it right? Since they can't do anything in Taiwan, that's why they stopped selling the car last year. What should be the normal reading and what should let me know this engine is about to die?

I have a chirp as well but I'm rather sure I know what mine is. I'm pretty sure mine is the AC belt being a tad loose, you might want to check that. The power loss and engine shutting off might not be related to the chirp but I could be wrong.

As for the oil, you might not need an oil change at 3k km but the rotary engine does burn oil, so you might need to add a bit before the oil change is needed.

dang... sorry to hear about your engine problem. if mazda taiwan cannot help with the warranty, will they at least let you buy a new engine? that seems like the very last resort...

Vacuum Check, would Mazda have the diag machines to do it? What does that do anyways? Sorry don't know much about engines.

For the engine sorry out of warranty now. All they keep telling me do get the oil change. That does it for a while but then after a month it comes back. But the weird thing is how does a new oil change solve the problem? Is it my engine is burring too hot so after a while the oild losses it lube and protection. That's the only thing I can think of....but that's stupid since I'd probably have to do oil changes every two or three months even if I don't drive the car too much!

你可以试试看,但是我想Mazda 台湾应该没有Test Rotary Compression 的机哪

Oil change has nothing to do with low compression. but I will say you probably have a lot of carbon in your motor, Read my DIY, you should be able to find those engine carbon cleaner in Taiwan.

So you guys think going through all the check-ups I should be able to find the problem or do you guys I should say the hell with it and get a new motor. There's about 2 or 3 cars at my dealer that already had their motor replaced.

So if I replace it all my problems would go away right? Can anyone tell me how much it will cost + plus labor so I can get a ball park figure on how much I need to fork out?
