Lost communication with ABS module

Hey guys .. My abs light has come on and my steering wheel light also .. I pulled the cel code and it read "Lost communication. V0121
With anti lock brake
System control
Module"
I got a used abs module.. But I did a search on here and it says the I'm going to have to reprogram the new module to communicate with the car ? How much does the dealer charge for this? And before I swap out the module, can the reprogram my original instead of the new one?

It could be a few things, it would need to be properly troubleshooted. The ABS unit does have to be reprogrammed by the dealer. My alternator overcharged a few years back and burnt up my ABS module (among other things) and the dealer had to do this to mine, it ran about $2400.00. Luckily my extended warranty covered it minus my $100.00 deductible.

^ yeah my price included replacement of the unit and reprogramming. Luckily it is not a common problem at all.

and trying to bleed the brake fluid through that thing can be a nightmare--good luck man. You probably can install it--it will just be a pain?
