I premix whatever JASO 2 stroke I can find now but started with Lucas UCL on this engine, now I am using Kawasaki JASO 2 stroke I found at Big Lots for $2.00 a quart. I use 6oz per fill up. I wonder if the oil on the threads is premix.

I usually see oil on the threads like that when an engine is burning oil. Which is generally from worn out side-plates, oil control carriers or the oil seals are bad. You also see this from rich misfires. There is a lot of burnt oil on the electrodes too, I would think my assumptions are correct. Those last two photos do not look healthy, that is not carbon. Its gooy right? I would change plugs at the same intervals I recommend on Rx-7s, 10K...

I was noticing a little power loss (could be butt dyno disease)so I decided to change them. But I check my codes daily and I have not had any misfire codes or the flashing CEL. This motor only has 12k on it and a couple of used oil analysis' have not shown anything of great concern except some excessive amounts of fuel in the oil which is why I typically change my oil every 2500-3000 miles or less.

I will data log tonight and compare logs to see if anything is different.

Yeah, give em up to me! Somewhere I heard not to clean em, but I'd flick those crusty deposits off and reuse.

Yeah we concurred that they are still usable so I boxed them up and stashed them in case some of the young (broke college students) need some decent plugs. These plugs are by far the best looking from the few times I have done plug changes. My previously changed plugs looked way, way, worse.

But I will just change them once a year just to be safe.
