local mazda dealership's recomendation

ok i postes about a month ago about having trouble starting my 8. I brought it into mazda they did all the stuff that everyone recommended to me on the board (the flash, and letting it warm up, etc....) well i still have problems and when i brought it in they told me theyre is to much carbon in the engine, they said i baby it to much (the last tiem i brought it in they told me i beat up on it to much) well i still really beat up on it. the thing that confuses me is they told me i should use the paddle shifters for now on (i have a automatic....long story) and shift at 9000 rpm. i think this is insane that has to be bad for the transmission. i have all this in writing and im probably going to call mazda headquarters and see what they say about it

Good luck even trying to follow their advice! Your automatic Renesis is redlined at 7000 rpm - you can't rev it beyond that, so 9000 is physically impossible.

your sparkplugs may have been irrevocably fouled by the time you had the flash performed, in which case the "carbon" theory would be correct. But telling you to not allow the auto transmission to shift as it is designed to do is patently absurd. If the plugs are carbon fouled they should be cleaned or replaced.

one indication from ANY service shop that i'm being screwed is enough for me to take my business elsewhere....FIND ANOTHER DELAERSHIP (preferrably one with a Master Rotary Tech on staff). People, I can not stress this enough!

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of... That would still be the dumbest if your car did redline at 7000 RPM. I am just curious, what was your response when they suggested that? If you bought the automatic... doesn't that mean you don't want to shift?

hahaha i like that one. we didnt say anything back to them they were giving us such a hard time trying to push it all back on us (me and my parents). so we just took what they gave us, shift at 9000 rpm in writing, and were going to take further steps with mazda headquarters. the local dealership has lied to us one to many times about various things.
