Yesterday i was detailing my car, getting it ready for Hot import nights (boston). Once i was done though, there was one problem. I couldn't start it.Flooded. My car looked so good getting towed on the back of a flatbed...lol. I let the service manager at quirk mazda in quincy know that i had to have my car ready for roll in thats happening today. he was real cool about it. said i would have it by 12 today. I got a call at 10:30 saying my car was ready. here is the good part , i guess. He said they replaced the battery, 4 new spark plugs, new catalitic converter, stater, and reprogramed the ecu. I have one of 04's that i guess got this bulletin. I never got it. It was about 2000 dollars worth of work they did to the car all covered under warranty(they didn't have to do this b/c i have an aftermarket exhaust on the car. This guy was so nice. definitely going back there. He said i would notice a remarkable difference in my horsepower and performance. I can't wait to get. I want to drive it. i'll let you guys know what happens. This is also the longest post i have written...sorry just a little excited.

This was done to mine a while ago. This was a TSB, not a recall. So, there would have been no notice sent to owners. And for my final point, it should be covered under warrenty. A flood issue has nothing to do with your aftermarket exhaust system. You have federal law on you side on that one.
Good Luck and Happy Driving.

i think he was meaning the catalytic converter not having to be replaced cause of the aftermarket exhaust

shortcrakr, they are right that you will notice some bump up in power. I had the same done on my 8 and I have an AEM CAI and Borla catback. When I got it back, it definitely had a little more pep.
