Hi, A friend of mine said one of the few cheaper things to make my 04 AT a bit faster was Light wieght pulleys. And Im here asking If any of you have thoughts on this?

is it good or bad. Worth it?

and what exactly is a pulley function and what will it do for my car

spend time reading on here. almost all these things have been discussed to death. educate yourself and form your own opinions. dont always take what others tell you as being 100% accurate. its YOUR car, learn about it. don't depend on others.

The mods that will give you the most power other than a turbo or supercharger is a catless midpipe and the Cobb AccessPort from Mazdamaniac. Other than that, intakes, pullies don't yield much HP gains as the engineers at Mazda did a great job with this car. I guess you could also sell your automatic 8 and buy a manual transmission 8. 04 autos have the 4 port engine and MT 8's have the high power 6 port.

 

some people think that pullies dont do much. personally i think it helps out just a little bit but not much. i put the unorhadox pullies on my 04 AT and it did rev much quicker and helps the acceleration out some also. but its your car, do what you would like

 

That's why I said it doesn't yield much HP

 

yeah does not give any HP only 1 or 2HP at most but will help it rev a little quicker
