Exclamation Lack of power in high RPMīs canīt reach 8,000

Hello guys:
A few months ago, I got a 2004 RX-8 6spd. manual grand turing with 50000 miles, but before I got it I sen it to check if everything was allright at two different shops, and the result was that everything was O.K. also pass the emission control test very good, indeed the car was runing well, it has a lot of power and felt very good.
The problem I have is that I canīt reach 8000 RPMīs as I used, it felt like something is pulling it back, and the temperature goes up. In the mornings ( about 15 deegres celsius ) it starts very well, no rough iddle, no extrange sounds, it goes to 1800 RPM while warm up and then to 800, I donīt have any CEL, and the car runs very nice until you have to push the accelerator.
The cathalityc converter seems to be fine, it has no strange odors and as I was telling the emission test is fine.
My 8 has:
- NEW COILS
- NEW RACING BEAT CABLES
- NEW SPARK PLUGS
- RACINGBEAT REVI INTAKE SYSTEM
- MAZDATRIZ LIGHT WEIGTH SHAFT PULLEY
- RACINGBEAT HEADERS
- INJECTORS CLEANED
- COMPRESIONS TESTED AT THE SHOP

Also I have made the test to run it very hot stopped for ten minutes, and then start it again and it has started with no problem.

As today the car has spent more time in the shop than with me driving it, so I am starting to think that the shop is looking at me as it piggy bank.

Please H E L P I am not in the U.S. and Mazda dealers here are not familiar wit the RX-8.

Thanks

It runs worse when the temperature outside gets warmer or the engine starts to get warm as you drive it harder?

Maybe my comprehension is lacking today.

^^he said the cat is good, but you need to remove it and look in from the engine side to make sure it's not melted/blocked

otherwise the lower intake APV barrels may not be opening, this provides the intake breathing necessary for high rpm operation, check the cat first though

Definitely, especially since engine temperature increases since the exhaust gases cannot escape.

I believe it causes strange engine vacuum readings as well. At least on a piston engine it does.

The hot restart issue is usually a good indicator of worn seals and it's immediate < 5 min restart that poses the issue. IE:Stalling, Shutting your car off cause 5 miles down the road you forgot your cellphone in the house, etc.

I'd check the catalytic converter, or any part of the exhaust system for blockage and report back. You could even have a code pending, it just hasn't met the requirements to set a check engine light yet.
People have reported running cattless for 100miles and no CEL came on. FFT.

You will either need a cat converter or the other alternative is a Cobb Accessport tune with the CEL code defeated. A low cost cat converter will be cheaper. You should search "davesport cat*" for a low cost aftermarket alternative
