Question Knock Sensor Procedure?

Can anyone tell me if they had good results from removing the Knock Sensor? Racing Beat seems to make a note about it, but no place really significant on this forum. I am getting the infamous pinging or knocking(marbles). I am in the dark on how to hang the sensor without mounting it to the car. You have to leave it connected, but not mounted. Seems like that would vibrate around, triggering the sensor to think the engine was knocking.

It's one thing to unbolt it in controlled conditions, it's another to drive around with it that way

don't come crying to us when you're engine is dead ...

I must have mis-understood the RB website. They are pulling the sensor. Will check the site again. More or less trying to trouble shoot a problem. I would connect it back, just wanted to see if it was creating symptoms or problems. Thanks for your O so pompus inputs. Always enjoy them.

You are most welcome

try wrapping it in a rag with a piece of duct tape to hold it in place

The knock sensor controls ignition timing, pinging causes it to dial the advance back to stop detonation. If you have noise in your engine, i assure you it is not the knock sensor. If you dont know how a car works, dont play with it. It makes it a lot harder on the person who has to fix not only whats wrong but what all you screw up.
