Key Fob mystery

All right, I’m sure I’m gonna get flames for this, but I’ve been looking for an answer to this for a long time on this forum and everywhere else I’ve had my RX eight for 18 years and only had a key fob for it for maybe three years my son destroyed it The only key fob I ever had for it when he was a toddler I say toddler but he was probably about five or six anyway I have bought new key fobs for it. I’ve checked the model number and the frequency made sure they matched and have gone through the procedure to pair it to the car and nothing I do not know whether or not I need to take it to the dealer to get them to match it to the computer or if I can get this done through forscan, I will remind you and this is what always messes everybody up when I talk about this I have working keys this is not the keys, but the key fob for the doors. Any help I can get from anyone who might know because I’ve been searching for the subject on this forum and the Internet in general. Please help me my 8 is a 2004

Do you have one working fob? As far I remember you need at least one good one to train new ones. The procedure is here

What happens when you try this?
Drop the attitude please.

When you did the programing steps, at the end did the door lock and unlock on it's own? I have a working fob but wont work on car (2 broken buttons but battery and chip have power tested with multimeter) My 8 will do the "reprogram success lock and unlock sequence" but wont register fob. From what I can tell people where lucky and where able to buy a fob online and program it in, but the antenna(s) are not working.

The problem one is located behind the rear bumper (outside of car) The wires are located behind the truck insulation, but the connector and antenna is located outside so the bumper will have to come off. If you search "keyless entry not working" you will see alot of posts about a "red key icon" and lots of people have detailed steps, tests, and guides to fix. I am currently planning on getting it done to have my keyless entry back.

My plan is to test the antenna, because if the antenna is dead, ill decide if I'm gonna buy a new one or live like its 1564 and just keep using my key.

Unfortunately just a bad design on mazda, why are essential parts in a POS spot.

But make sure to read carefully on steps.
If your control unit is dead might as well buy a new 8 because mazda has to program it to your car from what I can tell. It should be behind the glove box, the connectors will look good and are probably not your problem. Check them with a multimeter but tbh if the connectors are tight and look good, they are probably good.

BELOW IS A LINK/QUOTE FROM AN OLDER THREAD OF ANTENNA LOCATIONS

1) Driver's and Passenger Side Door (DTC B1132 - pass door, B1133 - driver's door)- Behind Door Panel/Trim
2) Exterior Rear (DTC B1131) - Mazda says remove rear bumper to access
3) Interior Front (DTC B112A)- Remove glovebox, located on lower bar glovebox hinges on
4) Interior Middle (DTC B1129) - Mazda says remove center console to access, from the image it looks like its under the shifter area
5) Interior Rear (DTC B1128) - Mazda says remove center console, its located in the middle of the rear seats, under the trunk access thing
6) Interior Trunk (DTC B1127)- Just below the trunk latch behind the plastic

thats all i got, if still need more i can try to find some better pics but the ones i can see suck and i cant post here (theyre actually files used for programs like google maps, you can zoom in and pan etc, sometimes handy)
