never had a problem, mine is a tightish fit in the housing seat

maybe make sure those surfaces are clean of any lube before you install it again? Also, are you using grease on the shifter ball and inner surface?

Yea all the surfaces are lubed up with tranny fluid. I could clean them, but they would just be greasy after its ran.

But really, it seems the problem is the height, or the inability to keep the bushing seated in the receiver.

Team,

I think your bushing must fit slightly tioghter in the housing seat. Might drops right in with no resistance at all when all fluid is cleaned.

I think I'll just drop the bushing in there, tehn put a couple dabs of RTV on the top surface of the bushing and the bushing seat. If I ever need to remove it, would be simple. Remove dab of RTV, and pull out.

Looks like I have the same problem darnellm had.

I just swapped trans out recently and had to give mine a pretty good tug to get it out, it was a snug fit going into the replacement trans

might be a tolerance issue, possibly yours is machined on the looser end?

love the part, it makes the OE shifter snickety-snick

Ok yes mine has zero interference with the cup, it drops right in...no pressing needed at all. I'll just use the RTV method then. Thanks for the help. Agreed on the feel, just a little more positive feeling when finding the gates.

I kept thinking to myself....this works just like any other shifter bushing...I seriously can't be messing this up.

The MazdaMotorsports guys were baffled when I asked them if I needed to remove some material off the top.

Just a note for closer to my shifter bushing issue, I ended up putting a small bead of oil proof RTV around the top 2mm of the bushing, and dropped it into the housing. Let it cure 24 hours, then reassembled. Seems to be great now, and like teamrx8 said, a nice crisp feel. I would only do this if your bushing does not have sufficient interference with the housing.
