Injector cleaners
In my 8, I use the Lucas UCL shown above as my "premix". 4-6 oz per tank for just a little extra apex seal lubrication plus carbon abatement. I also use Castrol GTX 5w30 oil.
In my 1979 RX7 LE, (which I've had for more than 15 years) I run Castrol 20w50 with Lucas UCL with a periodic MMO treatment and have over 150,000 miles on the original engine (still runs strong). (2nd owner, I have all receipts since new).
If you change your oil regularly per your driving habits then carbon build-up will kill your engine long before oil damage will.
In my OPINION, if you use "cleaners" too much, you loose the oil film that keeps the apex seals lubricated and the carbon from sticking to everything.

9K,
Thanks for the input. I've had no problems after years of using Lucas UCL in my 7 and now after almost a year using it in my 8. We all have different variables such as driving environement, gas station storage tanks, humidity, dust, etc. I have read about some people having some problems with clogged socks with UCL, premix and such, I haven't had any problems.
The lesson from all this is to take away from everyone's experience to come up with what works for you. We all know the weaknesses of the Renesis is apex seal wear and carbon buildup. There are peopel out there with over 100K on their renesis with only putting gas in it and running 5w20, there are other who have run premix and synthetic that have had to have engine replaced. Basically, most of us can only hope we got one of the good engines and regardless of what we do to it, that will be the biggest determing factor on if/when we have to have a rebuild.
if you are running FI or or doing track days often, sure, run Idumetsu, synthetic royal purple and what other voodoo crap you want to give you every chance of lasting another 10k, for me, I'm doing the resonable: 5w30 Castrol dino oil, documenting regular oil changes keeping with the factory maintenance schedule so if mine goes before 100k I can get my new engine. I have had good experience with Lucas UCL, I don't see anything special with the 8's fuel tank or fuel pump that would cause a weird reaction with Lucas UCL.
9K, sorry for the long rank and it isn't really directed at you. I've tried to stay out of the whole oil/premix debate because there are a lot of people on here with a lot more experience than me. I mostly lurk on here because of the GREAT inforation that you and others provide. I can only give my opinion on my almost 20 years experience with one old 12B RX7 and now almost a year with an RX8.
I love these cars and these engines. Nothing is like driving a rotary powered car.

I totally agree with you. I just thought I would show some evidence and my personal experience with Lucas. I should note that I premix a lot so maybe with the Lucas you need to tone it down a bit in terms of oz per gallon.
My fuel tank was replaced with a new tank at around 50k and I only use new gas stations, which supposedly have new plastic tanks and filters that help keep the gas clean. I have premixed from day one on this motor and installed a brand new fuel pump assembly. I plan on pulling the pump to check the sock soon to see how much better (if at all) Idemitsu is at keeping the sock clean.

And maybe that is the thing with UCL, don't over do it and keep you gas clean. All my gas stations are high volume, newer stations so I figure the gas isn't sitting in there too long.
When your car is buring through gas at 16-20 miles per gallon, I figure the better the gas is, the better my engine will be over time. As has been said all ready, carbon is the killer of rotary engines.
