ING Fuse blown

I was parking my RX8 2004 and suddenly the motor stopped, dash lights went away, also audio system. Only Interior lights remained on.

I checked my Engine Fuse Box and the ING fuse is blown, I replaced it and again the ING fuse pass away.

Somebody experienced the same issue?

Thx

I'm not exactly sure about this, but one of my friend's 94 integra had the same problem before and he brought it to a mechanic and it turned out that the fuel pump had an exposed wire in the gas tank and they replaced the fuel pump. After replacing the fuel pump, the ING fuse does not blow anymore. I'm not sure if it differs from our rx8.

If you're not the best with electronics, take it to a dealership.

If you want to tackle it yourself, and you feel competent with electronics, and reading wiring diagrams, you'll just need to get the wiring diagrams, see what circuits the fuse protects, and start checking for which circuits are keeping continuity when they shouldn't be. It'd most likely just be one, since it only take one circuit to short to ground to blow the fuse immediately, and it'll do so every time you put a fuse back in it until the problem is fixed.

You'll most likely have to tear the dash apart, maybe more of the interior apart, I don't know what circuits it's protecting, so I couldn't tell you.

From there, you'll have to actually fix it. It could be a wire that's cut and is touching metal, or another circuit, or anything. It isn't necessarily going to be a motor, or an actuator of any type, it can be just wires.

But honestly, electronics can be so utterly obnoxious. I'd recommend taking it to a dealer.
