I just installed the illuminated shift ****, with the custom boot (black with red stitching -- thanks mark from polak graphics). I noticed that the illumination is quite a bit brighter than the rest of the red lights in the car. Has anyone done anything to correct this - it would be great to have this illuminate at the same intensity as the rest of the red lights.

 

probably just add a resistor in series to the power lead for the lumination of the ****

 

what did the boot cost you? I'd like to replace my stock one just because it makes noises as I shift.


I agree with the resistor comment... lowering the power to the led will make it dimmer and shouldn't hurt it. If you can use a soldering iron, it'll cost you about $3 to do.
