Ignition Coils Help (BHR Ignition Upgrade)
#51
Reviving a thread that's been silent for 3yrs
I'm probably going to buy the BHR coil kit next month for my 05 Rx8 that had 40k miles on it. My question is what's the life expectancy of the BHR coils. I figure several of you have been running them for several miles now and could answer this.
Thank you for your legitimate responses.

The kit has 40k?
Many believe they will last as long as the engine does.
Take that fwiw.

Water Foul
^ Hopefully you mean as long as the car does. Engines are a bit iffy...
My kit has 20K track miles and 10K daily driven miles, and they are going strong.
Conventional wisdom is at least 100K miles. You might email Charles at BHR and ask him.

40th anniversary Edition
My BHR kit has 50k miles on it and still working perfectly. I don't know anyone on the RX8club forum that has ever reached the end of life with their BHR kits. Charles can't guarantee they are lifetime, he is being prudent. But so far they do seem to be good for the life of your RX8.
