The IAT is used to change/correct the calcLoad value.
It has no effect on the MAF.

Everything is calcLoad. Nothing really happens independent of calcLoad except the closed loop cruise and idle trims.

 

 

Right - And then IAT won't work because close-loop happens when (1) engine is warm and (2) when cruising.

If you install the IAT mod for performance, as soon as you push the gas pedal, it will leave close-loop mode and will go to open-loop. This will read the ecu pre-programmed fuel and ignition maps, ignoring most sensors.

IAT modification is nothing but a joke, but the existing buzz about it has served as a money maker for some scam artists.

Now that people know that it is a plain resistor that does nothing, this scammers are enclosing it in fancy boxes, calling them "modules".

 

That's not what I said.

The IAT is one of the load-adjustments. It is ALWAYS valid - open or closed loop.

However, randomly changing the IAT value with a resistor will not have the intended effect on fuel delivery.

 

What if my intention is to have my fuel delivery all fucked up? Huh? In, like, a random way? Mr. Sarcastic-but-slightly-informative-poster?
