My car was in the dealer from friday till thursday to fix an air bag. well guess what an hour later after i pick up the car, the air bag light goes back on. It sucks im 20 so i cant rent out a car and i have work this whole week.

 

i'm 20 and they let me rent a car. I don't see any problem with age, all they ask me is to put down 50 deposite which i can get back when i return the car.

 

ive always been told that legally you have to be 25 years old to rent a car. at least thats in CA

 

There is actually no law about that...it is the insurance companies for the rental agencies telling them that they won't be covered if they rent to someone under 25. However alot of times there are exceptions to that, when i was younger i had to rent cars all the time (my job required me to travel) and because of the corporate contract i was allowed to rent. You just have to check with the dealer / rental agent.

 

When I had my Accord, my airbag light came on once. I called the dealer and they couldn't fit me into their schedule to fix it until TWO WEEKS had gone by. I was like, "Well, is the thing going to go off in my face as I'm driving down the road?" They said, "Oh no, don't worry about it."

Turns out it came on because I'd been putting my bookbag in the passenger seat and that tripped some weight sensor or something and disabled the passenger airbag.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say to you is - you should still be able to drive the car even though the light is on. Don't take it in until they tell you they can fix it that day.
