Pls I will need suggestions about my tranny because if I drive normally the gears shift normally but if I sort of speed up instantly it downshifts to 2nd gear to pick up but never changes to 3rd gear, it just stays in 2nd gear till I come to a complete stop and drive normally without speeding up from a red light or stop sign , pls suggestions will be appreciated I will hate for my tranny to go bad cuz that would cost a lot , I don't know if it's covered under the 8yr/ 100000 warranty

It's a 2004 AT

 

It's normal if you are in the "manual" shifting mode. The transmission will only downshift, you have to manually upshift it.

 

not at al i mean if its not in the manumatic mode if its just in drive, ut i found out now that my tranny fluid is low maybe that might be the problem, dont know if i should pour in the whole quart or half

 

Check the level when the fluid is hot. Also, what color is the fluid? If it's dark or black you may be looking at a rebuild.
