Yeah I have pretty much decided on the secondary radiator or just ditching the Koyo for a Griffin or Ron Davis.

Mine runs at about 210-220 going down the freeway at 70mph, and comes back down to about 195-205 when I get back to 50-55mph and slower. I think most of my problem is the intercooler blocking the radiator. I was wondering if it would help to take the plastic shielding off under the car for the summer. The only thing Id be worried about is the CAI getting wet when it rains. The car really seems to be hate being driven in the rain. Surges like a *****.

One thing to keep in mind about temps with traffic.

People have expressed worry over oil and water temps when stuck in traffic. Yes, you should watch them to ensure they don't get out of control. However, remember that being in traffic and idling means there is virtually no load on the engine so the potential for long term damage is very small.

P2059 (I think), I know its for secondary Air Injection. But I get the midpipe O2 code anyway so i clear them both in the morning while the car is warming up with the Scangauge II.

The under tray creates pressure to push air through the radiator. Removing it would make it worse. I recently sealed mine up with foam and my temps dropped back to normal because they were running 10-15F higher after replacing the radiator but it was because I did not put the factory foam back on.

That is true but even is a series of low speed corners the temps rise significantly and quickly.

temps heat up quick in stop and go traffic.
exactly right on the undertray--car will run hotter with it off.
you have to have a pressure difference between the front of the radiator and the rear of it. Increasing the negative pressure in the engine bay can be as good as increasing the pressure on the front of it (think fans), a properly vented hood can help with that, but just any vented hood wont and some of them can make it worst. At speed i mean.
220 coolant temps is playing with long term survival imho.
if a secondary rad is used put a manually switched fan on it for those stop and go times.--turn it off at speed.
Summer is here and even my dogs wont go outside.

I'm looking around for a secondary rad now. Does anyone have a diagram of how the stock coolant hoses flow?

I am pretty sure which heater hose thanks to OD but I would like to do as clean an install as possible.

Personally I like the Seibon TT hood... Inverted ducts make it less obvious and not so aggressive... only downside is I think I read somewhere that it needs hood pins which should be cheap to buy anyway. (If they're not already included?)

Theres no functional vented hoods for our car at the moment. I could be wrong but I haven't seen any.

Yes - if you block the lower 3-4" above the undertray you limit cooling severely. If you want an upgrade from the greddy go with 4" thick x 8" high and mount it as high as you can.

I solved this issue with some silicone . Water drops between the hood and the bumper straight onto the filter . Not hard to fix.

that - I can't tell you . I know water temps were well controlled and my feeling is that oil temps only become an issue over a prolonged period . Most of my track sessions are 10-15 mins .
When I did this my car only had one oil cooler (JDM version) so I had the choice to go with a 2nd oil cooler or a 2nd radiator . I'm sure the 2nd rad was more effective than the oil cooler would have been ...
For 9k - he has a central oil cooler anyway so could do this with nil effect on his oil cooling .

Yea I know that would be a sweet sweet mod for him to do. thats a pretty ingenious idea as well. He might even be able to run both oil coolers. but at that point I dont know if it would be beneficial.
