I don't know where to begin...

In the interest of full disclosure, let me start off by informing anyone who reads this that I AM NOT rotaryfan2.

I know this thread does not belong where I am putting it, but since the one, single thread he ever started was in the tech section I thought it would be the best place to start.

I was partly responsable for that thread, since it was my, and another friends suggestion that he look into the subject of working on an RX8.

I never looked at the tread until tonight, and I have to say it is one of the saddest things I ever read.

I want to take this moment to apologize, not for my friend, but for coming up with such a bad idea. Had we known that it would've caused him such grief we would've found another way to try, and get him to take his mind off his problems.

To make a long story short, rotaryfan2 passed away late last week. He had been suffering from brain cancer, and could fight no longer. I was surprised to read that he eluded to being sick in his post, as he never wanted to talk about it. I think his lack of acknowledgment to being sick was his way of staying positive.

He loved all cars, and he loved working on them, and helping his friends in need.

As executer of his estate, I found this forum, along with others he was active in while going through files in his computer. Due to memory loss he kept a long list of his favorite forums handy, with everything he needed to stay connected to everyone that knew him. Knowing that he didn't talk about this one as much as the others, and that it was a source of tension, I put it off until tonight to investigate his involvment.

When I found he had made only one thread I was just going to blow it off. But after I read the thread, and the impression that I'm sure he left, I couldn't ignore it, and let some of you think the worst of him.

He was a 35 year old father of 3 ranging from 5-9, and he will be terribly missed. He was one of the kindest, hardest working people I knew, that would've given the shirt off his back to help anyone. The last year of his life, was very hard, and at the time of his thread he was not himself. He had become, forgetfull, short tempered, and easily irritated. I don't know if this was a result of the cancer, or the drugs/chemo therapy. Either way, the person that posted that thread was not the guy I grew up with.

I do wish you could've have known him when he was well, I'm positive everyone would've like him. He had many friends, in many online communities.

And as I said before, "He will be greatly missed."

Sincerely,
Mike Williams

RIP rotaryfan2

I am sorry for your loss.

His posts didn't seem that bad to be honest - but you could tell some mood swings.

I think if nothing else people should go back to the golden rule when new folks post a thread.

If you don't know the golden rule; then search...

I hope he goes to heaven where stripper factories are around every corner and beer volcanoes are everywhere.

The Pastafarian belief of heaven stresses that it contains beer volcanoes and a stripper factory.[25] Hell is similar, except that the beer is stale, and the strippers have VD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastafarian

+2... Holy Crap, Stripper Factories... i never thought of that.

Regards to the Family & Friends... Having 2 kids myself, I can guess he lived everyday as if it was his last before finding out of his condition since he bought an rx-8, IMO comparatively it's not a car you buy out of practicality, but because you like to drive Finding time to pursue your own dreams while balancing everything can be challanging.

I read through Rotaryfan2's last and only post. Kind of chilling thinking that he was writing all those things fighting through brain cancer.

R.I.P. Rotaryfan2.
