how many miles do you guys get on your engines before the go or current. i have 105000 miles on mine. I am trying to figure out the normal life on these engines and also premature ending of these machines.

Dunno, have read the oil consumption kinda is like a prevenitive maintenance program for the RX8. Sure it uses more than the piston engine, but is replenishing fresh oil between oil and filter changes. For more added comfort us a pre/mix and report back after 200,000 miles....

Do you think the oil weight played a major role in those failed engines.

I do not have the slightest idea. Never saw inside the engines. The first engine when it was warmed up and driven for a while the apex seal did not seal right and the second engine the rear rotor lost all compression.

I am hoping so. When the dealer installed the first one it took 2 months at Grecco Mazda . The engine i have now only took 2 days at Wayne Mazda, go figure. I hope the first too were deffective.
