how long does reflash take??

i was in the dealershop today for the reflash and took them about 10 minutes to do it. now i was wondering how long it takes for other people. excluding waiting time. when i went to the dealershop they told me they shouldn't do warranty work on saturday so i had to leave my car and pick it up next week because they have to reprogram it an test drive it so on so on.. eventhough i had an appointment for the reflash for today, and after 5 minutes of me complaining they told me they will do it. they took my car and i was watching it from far and about 10 minutes later they brought my car back and told me it's done. i didn't see they open the hood or anything and they told me they reprogram it under the console(i guess it means they hook it up to the computer in side of the car). now i wonder if i really got the reflash or not.
thank you.
p.s. i'm in houston tx and the dealer is jeff hass mazda on i-10 and wilcrest.

They program it through the OBDII port under the dash. It takes about 10 min. to get the data (dialup connection) into the PCM. The dealers don't store the flashes locally, it's all from Ford's computer centre.

No, it's not a Ford. They use Ford's system because it was less expensive than setting up their own, and they are, after all, partly owned by Ford.

All of my flashes have taken less than 5 minutes (actual time - not preparing the car, etc.). It is done throught the OBD connector under the dash.

Mine took about 20 min.... I was actually right next to the car when he did it. Joe Myer's have NO problems with their customers watch while they fix your car.

They actually showed me that there was not only one M flash, but about 6-7 of them. they said its for various problems. But since I didn't have any problems, he will flash it with the performance one. Don't know what that means, but I got 22MPG on the last fill up. I was averaging 16. Didn't change driving habits.

When the screen shows all the files it wants to download into the car, you cannot pick the one you want. They all go in at once.

This brings a question to me, after reading the TB, it says to drive it under very specific conditions and RPMs. I may be wrong or someone may have addressed this earlier, but I dont see how it could take less than 30mins, and they would def. have to take it out on the road to follow the instructions. Hhhmm or is that part just for the engine flooding, not very clear is it :p

Mazda has nothing to do with your problem.

They do not pay the advisor's or the tech's.

This is the local Dealer not keeping up to date. And seeing you are in the Atlanta area it really amazes me. The training sites are there!
