How to keep engine running at peak efficiency

ok guys and girls...i have a 2005 rx8...i have put about 2000 miles on it since i purchased it...i don't care so much about dyno numbers etc...but i do want to make sure it is running as efficiently and effectively as possible...before i start modding

have been doing lots of reading...i know that i probably need to check my plugs and coils and run a compression test... but any other suggestions??? i'm going to start a list...my goal is to get this together and then provide a link with each for people to have as a quick reference...correct me if this has already been done before...i just didn't find it...

1) change plugs (https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=31872.html)
2) change coils (https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-coil-packs-installation-tips-120475/)
3) change oil and filter(https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=12455.html)
4) check tire pressure
5) compression test
6) flush cooling system

I want to learn Golf, can you show me ?

No need to worry too much, make sure you change your oil regularly, Flush your cooling system regularly. Change your spark plugs and coils Regularly.

Remember get a Screen for your A/C Condenser and Oil cooler.

Thats about it.

I think tajabaja is just trying to get a high post count, by posting banalities on technical threads.......

mmmm damn swoope premix.. ... :D
Give tskeltonpga a chance they look new here. You could spend the rest of your life reading premix threads on this website and still not have a definitive answer.

Some advice "stay away from fuel mileage threads!" They are like crack. Everywhere and once you start you can't stop reading them.

But seriously Swoope knows his stuff and you might find premix is for you.

My suggestion to add is,
- Don't baby to the engine to much, don't be afraid to redline it once and awhile.

And as long as your out there reading premix threads and fuel mileage threads you might as check out all the fuel octane threads.
Welcome to the rest of your life and to the club, I wouldn't change a thing!

Keep the revs up and redline every drive.

WCS, don't get me started on mileage. I did 9000 km in the last two months on C$1150 worth of premium... Still wouldn't change a thing.

don't forget to change your tranny fluids ever so often because of our very very high redline

mikesrx where are you located???

i have been doing some reading on the premix threads...not completely sure i think its all that worth considering our cars automatically inject oil into the gas right? or did i misunderstand something?

miles per gallon? im gettin around 20...300 miles per tank...at the high end...

redline? yea i get up there plenty! believe me...plus i know it helps to remove the carbon deposits...this engine likes to get a lil spunky every now and then..considering im gonna be doin some scca events next year...don't think the redline thing is a problem!

oh yea...i love everytime i fill up and its 42-45 bucks...why? bc i know ppl all over the US and other countries pay a lot more than we do here in SC for gas!!! plus..i can't friggin wait to get under the car and start changin some fluids...

i love this car and couldn't be more glad to be a part of the rx 8 world!
