Drive slow and boring, coast a lot, shift into 6th gear around 35 mph, and use cruise control all the time. That is a mortal sin if you own an RX-8.

When I need to get better mileage, I just jump in my Yaris. When I want to have fun, I jump in the '8.

for me it was live closer to work so I can walk. Now I only drive the 8 the way god intended and don't waste time with it in traffic.

This is awesome. Somebody actually made a new gas milage thread.
I only opened this thread because I thought someone had started it for an April Fool's joke, and that I hadn't seen it until now.
But no, someone actually started a new one. WOW!
Thanks for the good laugh.

Ok, on a more serious note.
I bought this item for $10 plus shipping, and it's helped some.
Definitely have saved more than $10 worth of gas, so it really paid for itself.
It kind of took some getting use to, but now I'm saving about a tanks worth per week.
