How can I fix my switchblade key?

I have a 2005 switchblade key and the place that holds the keyring on the top broke off so now, I can't attach it to anything. If any of you have had this problem, what can I do to fix it? I really don't want to buy a new key just because the little plastic keyring latch broke off. Yes, I have already searched around the forum but I couldn't find any threads specific to this. They were all about faulty key fob mechanisms and such.

Switchblade is ONLY available in two parts, the metal bridge where key ring fits (see red ring in pic) into is part of the Transmitter itself.

The only other available part is the key with chrome push button...

If you buy the lower portion of the remote (it doesn't have to work) you can pop it apart like you are replacing the battery. Then you can remove that metal piece from the broken remote and transfer it to your functional one.

Might be cheaper to obtain if it's already 'broken', but yes...it would be easier to do that.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try buying a new fob and replacing the part.
