Horn problem

Hi guys,

Here's my situation. I recently got my Rx8, and when i bought it (its a used '04) the horn was working fine. One day last week, my alarm went off since my grandpa bumped into it. At that time i didn't have key fobs to deactivate it and i wasn't really aware how to disarm it. Eventually it stopped (after about 5 mins)

ANYWHO, i got key fobs but now the panic button and pressing the lock button twice doesn't activate the horn sound. It seems that my horn is not working now, i was hoping if i could get any information on HOW i would be able to fix this issue (preferably DIY), would it be as simple as getting the fuse replaced IF its burnt out?

This is one of the main issues i'm having off the get go, the other is the recalls that Mazda isn't providing me..even long story which i'll entertain you guys later with.

Thanks

You mentioned that the horn doesn't sound when you press the panic button or the lock button twice.
How about when you press the horn switch on the steering wheel?
If that works, then you know the fuse and relay is good and its something with the keyless control module programming.

Then check the 15A HORN fuse to see if its blown.
If thats OK, swap the FOG and HORN relay and see if that works.

This advice was so trivial, that I could not believe ... (l)uck, my primary mechanic put 10A fuse instead of nominated 15A ... Questioned why, he claimed "Anyway it's gonna blow ...", thought problem is allegedly cannot be here ... So what, guys take RX8 seriously and never ask dealers for a help, since your warranty is gone. A special thanks to Jon316G.
