how do i hook up rx8 engine harness to rx7 manual transmission?

iirc rx8 6spd box has two connections, reverse and neutral. Does the rx7 trans have anything those? basically they are either shorted or open. So in a pinch you can probably ignore the neutral part of the harness (since you're replacing the EMS anyway) and wire the reverse directly to the taillight circuit.
