Question HID Conversion kit 6000k

So guys i found a cheap hid conversion kit to mount on my rx8 and was wondering if i would be able to put any bulbs on it ? like 8000k , 10000k, 12000k bulbs ? or just the 6000k ones.

aslo will 6000k be blue or white ?

Thanks guys

the 6000k, 8000k, and 10000k etc is just the temperature of the bulb, so provided it is the right bulb for the socket you can get whichever temperature you like. 6000k will be a light blue, and 8000k will be more blue, and 10000k will be even more blue, and once you get to like 12000k it will be almost purple. but be aware that as the temperature goes up farther away from 4300k it gets duller and duller, my 8000k low beams are nowhere near as bright as stock.

You could try searching the forum once in a while. There is a lot of info regarding many questions you have. People have been modifying this car since it came out, 8ish years ago...

Chris how cheap is the kit and what brand is it? My friend bought one of those ~$30 ones on ebay and it worked great for him for years on two cars, I bought one and it died in a few days. Mine ending up not firing one headlight at all and I just returned it. You might get lucky though.

I hate 6k + bulbs. You can't properly see with them at night and blind incoming traffic.
Find a 4.5k hid conversion if you really have to.

The only reason it should blind oncoming traffic is if you don't retrofit HID projector. Most people don't do that so even the 4.5k would blind oncoming cars. The halogen projectors the car has work somewhat, they at least cut the light off and don't let it really scatter.

That is most definitely a very cheap kit, it doesn't even have a manufacturer. I think people have had luck with DDM Tuning : HID Kits you can try them, still cheap.

Yes you can use any colored h7 bulb in them.

Never mind what anyone here said. What do Swiss laws say about headlight color? In most states in the US anything that looks blue or higher is illegal.

Make sure the bulb and headlight assembly are matched. HID and halogen bulb geometries are different, so the reflectors are different.

Difficult for me? No. For you? Well that depends on your skill level. You also could just replace the ballast, there is a thread here about that. The guy who started it is a real bad ***.

Well you should be able to handle it, it is really simple wiring. I suggest using the search feature though to get an idea of what is involved.
